Coconut Oil Hype: But It’s The Real Deal

There is hype around coconut oil, and its benefits and uses, and it is here to stay. Coconut is one of the most balanced foods in nature with multiple vitamins, nutrients and amino acids. Not just in the form of oil, but it is also beneficial to use coconut sugar, flour and milk. If you have access to fresh coconut water I would recommend drinking it as much as you can but I do not promote the bottled or boxed coconut juices. Be very careful and read the labels carefully, as a lot of them have hidden additives.

The benefits of this oil are for the whole body. It improves the look and strength of hair and skin, boosts immunity, increases high density lipoprotein (prevents high cholestrol), fights infections, improves blood glucose levels, strengthens bone and teeth, and just smells amazing. It is not as sticky as other oils which is why it is my first choice for topical application.

Now Let me give you two equally amazing DIYs using coconut oil:

1 – Coconut Moisturizer: All you need is coconut oil and baking Soda

  • Mix a spoon of coconut oil with ½ spoon of baking soda.
  • Apply it on face at night, after cleansing and toning (Optional: apply vitamin C serum).
  • Leave it on all night and see the glow in the morning. Do this every other night.

This helps with wrinkles, dark spots and nourishes your skin with all the nutrients it needs.

2 – Coconut Mask: I will talk about this mask, I experimented with; in details, after trying it on myself for another week, but the results I have seen in just two uses blew my mind.

  • ½ spoon of coconut oil
  • ½ spoon coffee (ground)
  • ¼ spoon turmeric
  • ¼ spoon apple cider vinger
  • ½ spoon of gram flour
  • 2 drops of tea tree oil
  • ½ spoon of Indian Healing Clay (can be found on amazon)
  • ½ spoon of aloe gel
  • Milk or water spoon full

Make a mixture of the above ingredients and apply it on face for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off gently and moisturize face with the coconut moisturizer.

Do this 2-3 times week. This is good for dullness, blemishes and redness on skin.

Try these two remedies simultaneously for 2 weeks and comment below with the results. Enjoy the glow!
